I’m still digesting it, but I dig its inherent meta-ness. SPOILERS: A lot of people are griping about the nihilistic ending in which, more or less, everyone dies. But, uh… they were going to die one way or another, eventually. We, here, now, knowing the words Athena and Apollo, are evidence that they didn’t just perish in the first winter. We can also bitch about them ditching their (spent) technology, but they had to do that to keep with continuity — meaning, of course, the archaeological record. It’s all so ridiculous and geeky. Yay!
